Mikroniek September 2023: New Manufacturing Technologies

The September issue of Mikroniek is devoted to the theme of New Manufacturing Technologies.

In this editorial, Teun van de Sande, CTO of rising star Wefabricate, defines modern manufacturing as producing smarter, i.e. with awareness of sustainability, adaptability and durability. The theme articles cover, a.o., alignment turning for high-precision optical systems, challenges and opportunities in gradient-index optics, and applications of 3D template-based microfabrication. Other manufacturing features concern shrink compensation for 3D PEEK printing, spatial Atomic Layer Deposition, and precise machining and laser processing of brittle materials. Also included is a report of the euspen Conference 2023. Click here for a first impression. (Cover image courtesy of Horizon Technologies).
