Optomechanica, ontwerpen voor precisie

Optische systemen voor toepassing in de ruimtevaart vereisen een combinatie van hoge nauwkeurigheid en stabiliteit, vaak onder extreme omstandigheden. Dankzij langdurige ervaring in uitdagende ESA-projecten heeft TNO TPD zich een gevestigde internationale reputatie verworven op het gebied van het ontwerpen van optische en mechanische systemen (optomechanica) voor toepassing in de ruimte. Recente voorbeelden van apparatuur die wordt gebruikt in satellieten zijn b.v. GOME, SCIAMACHY, OMI en het refocusmechanisme voor de tweede generatie Meteosat (MSG).
