Grensvlak onderzoek met oppervlakte plasmon resonantie

In de laaste tien jaar heeft surface plasmon resonantie (SPR) zich ontwikkeld van een nogal esoterische optische methode tot een populair stuk gereedschap bij het karakteriseren en onderzoeken van allerlei processen die zich op of aan een oppervlak afspelen. Met name de ontwikkeling van chemo-optische sensoren, die bedoeld zijn omselektief de aanwezigheid van lage concentraties molekulen te kunnen detecteren speelt SPR een belangrijke rol, door de relatief simpele en compacte instrumentatie die benodigd is om een hoge gevoeligheid te behalen.
