De OMI spectrometer

De laatste jaren staat in toenemende mate het onderzoek van de atmosfeer in de belangstelling. Hiertoe worden er wereldwijd (met name in Amerika, Japan en Europa) instrumenten ontwikkeld, waarmee vanuit de ruimte de concentratie van ozon en andere bestanddelen van de atmosfeer gemeten kan worden. Sinds 1994 wordt een nieuw type instrument voor o.a. ozon metingen ontwikkeld, genaamd OMI (Ozone Monitoring Instrument).
