De Office Holoprinter

Door de combinatie van holografie en computergraphics zijn computermodellen niet alleen fotorealistisch af te beelden, maar ook levensecht in drie dimensies. Het lijkt alsof het voorwerp kan worden aangeraakt en het kan verschillende kanten te bekijken. Kortom, de afbeelding heeft de echtheid van een prototype, zonder dat er ooit een prototype is geweest! Het enige wat tot dan toe bestaan heeft is het computermodel en het daarvan gegenereerde hologram. Om dit proces mogelijk te maken, is er bij DHL (Dutch Holographic Laboratory) een prototype van de Office Holoprinter ontwikkeld. De techniek hier gebruikt is Rapid virtual prototyping genoemd.
