De Delftse bakermat van de glasvezeloptiek

Zoals wellicht bekend is, is Delft een van de plaatsen waar rond 1950 de eerste aktiviteiten op het gebied van de glasvezeloptiek plaatsvonden. Omdat in de vakliteratuur meestal dezelfde schaarse referenties worden genoemd en omdat het aanvankelijke Delftse onderzoek in de confidentiele sfeer lag, lijkt het zinvol eens terug te blikken op die eerste onderzoekfase, mede om de Delftse prioriteit te benadrukken.
