Contactless product transport – Summary

Producten zoals wafers of silicium zonnecellen zijn bijzonder kwetsbaar. Om de kans op productbeschadiging te minimaliseren, is elk contact ongewenst. Daarom ontwikkelen Delftse onderzoekers een systeem dat fragiele vlakke producten kan transporteren en positioneren zonder ze aan te raken. De producten zweven namelijk op lucht. De werking van het concept is met demonstrators aangetoond. Daarmee kan een product in één richting worden gepositioneerd. Het is de bedoeling van de onderzoekers dat een nog te ontwikkelen demonstrator kan positioneren met 6 graden van vrijheid.
