Naarmate de nauwkeurigheidseisen aan precisie-apparatuur steeds hoger worden, zal het gebrek aan demping een steeds grotere rol gaan spelen. In de toekomst zaal daarom al in de ontwerpfase moeten worden nagedacht over de realisatie van voldoende demping in dergelijke machineframes.
