Abrasief waterstraalsnijden

Hoge-druk abrasief waterstraalsnijden wordt vaak in een adem genoemd met CO2-lasersnijden en plasma-snijden. Als zodanig wordt het proces ingedeeld in de categorie minder nauwkeurige plaatbewerkingsmethoden. In de meeste industriele toepassingen is dit ook inderdaad het geval, zodat deze indeling niet onterecht is. Uit onderzoek aan de Technische Universiteit Delft blijkt echter dat de potentiele mogelijkheden van hoge-druk abrasief waterstraalsnijden nog bij lange na niet ten volle is benut.
