Mikroniek November 2025: Einstein Telescope

The November issue of Mikroniek is devoted to the Einstein Telescope.

The main article gives an overview of the Dutch R&D consortia that work on this stunning third-generation gravitational-wave detector, for which the Euregio Meuse-Rhine (Netherlands-Belgium-Germany border area) is a candidate location. Next, several consortia present an in-depth status report, featuring topics such as vibration isolation, picometer interferometry, vibration-free cryogenic cooling, a highly sensitive ET seismometer, and the measurement and rectification of optical phase errors. Also in this issue, systems engineering for Big Science, in this case a pulsed laser deposition research cluster for energy materials, and a preview of the Precision Fair 2025.
