The June 2021 issue of Mikroniek features the theme of precision mechatronics. This is related to the DSPE Conference on Precision Mechatronics 2021, which will take place mid-September in a hybrid live/online format; a preview is included. The cover story presents the design and prototyping of an automated sub-micron-accurate optical fibre alignment for photonic applications. Other contributions feature the designs of a retractable imaging device, a tuneable resonant scanning mirror, a monolithic solution for a bistable mechanism, and a monolithic kinematic optical, respectively. To conclude, the broad initiative for a Lifelong Optics Learning platform is introduced. Click here for an impression.
