The February issue of Mikroniek, click here for a first impression, contains a preview of the High-Tech Systems 2019 event as well as an In Memoriam for Wim van der Hoek, the Dutch doyen of design engineering principles, who passed away last month. The main features include misalignment in overconstrained compliant mechanisms and self-alignment in kinematic couplings. The cover story provides an introduction to kinetic art which may inspire engineers to take a more creative approach to design challenges.
