The April issue of Mikroniek features the theme of microsystems. The cover story presents watch innovation based on a high-frequency oscillator designed as a compliant mechanism. The second theme article describes compliant ortho-planar mechanisms of which the stiffness can be tuned to be positive, negative or even close to zero. Other contributions are concerned with dual-loop control for high-dynamic, high-precision positioning, CO2 snow-jet technology for dry cleaning of delicate sensors, and a machining centre combining milling, hard-turning and grinding. click here for a first impression.
