Marc Hendrikse new member of the Mikrocentrum board

Strengthens the ambition to embed Lifelong Learning in the high tech industry.

Marc Hendrikse has joined as a member and incoming chairman of the board of Stichting Mikrocentrum Nederland, the knowledge and network organization for the high-tech and manufacturing industry. With Hendrikse’s arrival, Mikrocentrum strengthens its ambition to further embed Lifelong Learning in the high-tech ecosystem.

The high-tech and manufacturing industry is one of the most dynamic but at the same time most complex sectors in the world. Marc Hendrikse has shown throughout his career that structurally seeking connections and sharing knowledge are essential if the Dutch high tech manufacturing industry is to maintain its top position. “The level of complexity is so high that only cooperation is the solution,” says Hendrikse. “To continuously work on the development of the ecosystem is the only way in order to realize this. Smart innovation is done by working together. In this, two elements are essential: finding, keeping and training talent on the one hand, and connecting talent on the other. Mikrocentrum has proven to be of great added value for the high tech sector for more than 50 years. Especially now, in this time of transitions, Lifelong Learning and making connections are therefore of crucial importance.”

Smart innovation is done together

In an increasingly complex world, the demand for a higher level of knowledge and skills is increasing. The time of a monopoly on an idea, technology or innovation is over. Not because everything has already been invented, but because it is almost impossible to realize it alone.

Bert-Jan Woertman, Managing Director of Mikrocentrum: “Marc Hendrikse understands this like no other. His joining is a logical step for Mikrocentrum. We share the same core values: connecting, sharing knowledge and working together. Mikrocentrum has been involved in Lifelong Larning for over 50 years and is a network organization by heart. As chairman of the Top Sector High Tech Systems and Materials, Hendrikse is a true connector and a strong supporter of talent development and retention. With Hendrikse, we are strengthening our ambition, with Lifelong Learning and connection as solid core elements.”

Reinforcing the top position of the high tech and manufacturing industry

In addition to Marc Hendrikse, the board now consists of Roel Fonville (Chairman until 2023), former CEO of Philips Healthcare, and Wim Kraaijeveld, former partner of PwC. “As a knowledge hub and meeting place, we work together to strengthen the industry’s top position. It is the key to future proof technology.” says Woertman.
