Interferometry in a mechanical workshop

Weekly posts on Linkedin make Nobby Assmann a well-known character within the Dutch precision industry.

He writes about metrology and precision machining, often with a selfie, sometimes with a short video. Many people seem to appreciate his ‘fine-mechanical adventures’, as he calls them, yet his company is just him and his parents. As the company celebrates its 40th anniversary, the question pops up in this Mikroniek article: what drives the family and their business? With a special interest in the two interferometers they recently acquired for precise flatness measurements. (Photo courtesy of Assmann Verspaningstechniek)
