November 2nd the DSPE Knowledge Day on Engineering for #Cryogenics took place.

This knowledge sharing event was hosted by theΒ NOVA Optical Infrared Astronomical Instrumentation GroupΒ – who develops opto-mechanical cryogenic systems for astronomy – and was held atΒ ASTRON Dwingeloo, Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy.

Key speakers wereΒ Sense Jan van der MolenΒ (NEVAC),Β Maurice TeuwenΒ (JPE – Driven by innovation),Β Gabby AitinkKroesΒ (SRON Netherlands Institute for Space Research),Β PieterPaul LerouΒ (DEMCON kryoz), andΒ Ramon NavarroΒ (NOVA Optical Infrared Astronomical Instrumentation Group). A guided tour gave a good overview of theΒ researchΒ andΒ engineeringΒ activities related to ASTRON and NOVA.

The DSPE would like to thank all participants for joining this knowledge sharing session, the speakers, and the facilitating organisations.
