In dit artikel wordt ingegaan op de invloed van glasbuizen op de hoogte van de kwikmeniscus in barometers en thermometers. Schoon kwik ondervindt in schoongemaakte glasbuizen een depressie D welke in grootte afhangt van de inwendige buismaat d, en de meniscushoogte h.
