Het komt voor dat men bemerkt dat de opgelegde eisen en beperkingen voor een deel op foutieve veronderstellingen berusten. En dat terwijl men denkt reeds vrij ver gevorderd te zijn in het ontwerpproces. Onder het motto “beter ten halve gekeerd dan ten hele gedwaald” is het dan aan te bevelen te stoppen en op grond van de verkregen nieuwe inzichten eventueel een herstart te maken.
