EVENT 6 November 2025

Lunch lecture December hosted by TNO

The role of topology optimization in the design of high tech systems

About this event

Topology optimization, in combination with additive manufacturing, enables efficient design and manufacturing of optomechatronic systems that maximize performance under various relevant (thermo-)mechanical load cases. However, integrating these novel technologies into existing design workflows comes with programmatic as well as technical challenges. In this presentation, we will show how we are using topology optimization in our projects, highlighting the capabilities of our in-house optimization framework. Lessons learned and remaining challenges will also be discussed, as well as future work aiming at increasingly multi-disciplinary system optimizations.

Normally every first monday of the month DSPE organizes for their members a lunch lecture. Each time there is a different topic that a speaker is going to talk about. Due to the holiday period we will organize this lecture in the second week.

Questions can be asked after the 25 minutes presentation. If you want to keep informed about these lunch lectures please send an email to info@dspe.nl
