Partner event: Vacuum & Cryogenics
Bridging Research and Industrial Applications
About this event
The Einstein Telescope (ET) is a planned next-generation European observatory for gravitational waves. Its extreme requirements create technological challenges in areas such as ultra-high vacuum, cryogenic cooling and vibration reduction. For companies and researchers, these challenges offer an opportunity to push their own technologies further while contributing to the development of ET.
This workshop brings together companies, researchers and technology experts working in and around vacuum and cryogenics. You will get an introduction to the Einstein Telescope by Gideon Koekoek, Associate Professor of Physics, and a closer look at the vacuum and cryogenic technologies it requires.
What will you get out of the workshop?
- Discover the vacuum and cryogenic challenges behind the Einstein Telescope.
- Learn where new technologies and industrial expertise are needed.
- Exchange knowledge directly with researchers, companies and ET experts.
- Explore opportunities for R&D and cross-border collaboration.
- Find out how COMET can help turn a promising match into an R&D project.
