In the world of precision technology, acquiring knowledge is important for the young engineers. Acquiring knowledge is made easier when you are friends with the knowledge holder. In short, making contacts is important for the young engineer. The DSPE wants to play a bigger role in involving young people in society. Café Eureka offers young engineers the place to be together and to gain experiences with an interactive interview with an inspiring guest. The interviewers will ask the guest about his experiences, but the audience is very welcome to interfere with questions. Target audience are millenials (young precision professionals) You as a young professionals are very welcome to join this café.

Special Guest: Arend Jan Beltman, Manager Mechatronics / Program Manager Technology at Sioux Technologies
|
Arend-Jan Beltman is Manager of the Mechatronics Department and Program Manager Technology for the Business Line Systems at Sioux. He has extensive experience in mechatronic system design, machine dynamics, motion control, and high-precision equipment development. Since graduating in Control Engineering from the University of Twente, he has contributed to advanced systems in areas such as laser processing, high-accuracy inkjet registration, EUV wafer handling, Blu-ray mastering, and digital microscopy.

Many young engineers launch their careers driven by a passion for technology. They immerse themselves in a specific field, become specialists, and learn to solve complex technical problems. However, as systems grow larger, smarter, and more multidisciplinary, the nature of the challenges shifts. Technical expertise alone is no longer sufficient. This lecture outlines the personal journey from specialist to systems thinker, architect, and ultimately, leader within the high-tech industry.
