Een luchtgelagerde precisiespil

In overleg met Hembrug BV te Haarlem is onder verantwoording van Philips Machinefabriek Acht een luchtgelagerde spil ontworpen en gebouwd voor de ultraprecise draaimachine. Met een diamantbeitel kunnen op deze machine computerdisks worden nagedraaid met een vlakheid beter dan 100nm. Het ontwerp en de ontwikkeling van de luchtgelagerde spil wordt in dit artikel besproken.
